Over the past few months, voters across the Matanuska-Susitna Borough sent us their top questions for the 2025 Borough Assembly and School Board candidates.

We compiled the most frequently asked questions and key topics into a survey and contacted each candidate for their input.

Every Mat-Su Assembly candidate submitted responses. Three of the five School Board candidates either did not respond to participation requests sent by email, text, and voice message or did not participate.

Below are the candidate questionnaires submitted by:

About the Mat-Su Sentinel voter guide

What you see in this voter guide is exactly what each candidate submitted in response to the questionnaire. We did not edit or alter their responses in any way.

Questions and topics were submitted by voters through a Mat-Su Sentinel form. Questions were selected based on the number of submissions received on each issue and whether the topic was relevant to the seat in question. For example, the guide does not ask candidates about national or state-level issues that fall outside the authority of local government.

One candidate, Brooks Pitcher, confirmed receipt of the questionnaire but did not participate.

How to find your polling place

There are two easy ways to search for your polling place online.

Voters can look up their registration information and find their polling precinct number and address in the Alaska State Voter Search portal. Simply enter your first name, last name, and the city on your mailing address, then select "Submit." The system will find your name and information.

Another way to find your polling place is to use the Alaska State Map portal, which relies on GIS mapping to link an address to a precinct number and location. Enter your full address into the search field, and the map will display the location and assigned precinct information.
